The warning came as SABMiller, which is based in London and Johannesburg, reported Thursday a rise in sales for the year ended March 31, underpinned by its expansion in emerging markets, such as its heartland of Africa, as well as Central America and Asia. Net profit fell 22% to $3.27 billion; in the prior year, the brewer benefited from a $1.2 billion gain on the sale of some brewing assets. Underlying profit, which excludes the impact of charges and gains, jumped 12%.
