Zoltán Somlyai, President of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomes the 5+1 government package of measures
Zoltán Somlyai, President of the Hungarian Hotels and Restaurants Association, welcomes and welcomes the 5+1 package of measures for the hospitality industry, announced by Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy as part of the government’s economic stimulus action plan. According to the announcement, the measures aim to reduce the operational burden on catering establishments and strengthen the competitiveness of the sector.
Zoltán Somlyai emphasized:
“The catering and hotel industry has borne extraordinary burdens in recent years, therefore any measure that alleviates administrative, tax and financing pressure is of substantial help to businesses. The 5+1 package points in a direction that can contribute to the stabilization of the sector.”
According to the president, it is particularly important that decision-makers use this support to help tourism contribute to GDP, recognizing the economic importance of catering, as the sector is not only a significant employer, but also a defining pillar of domestic and international tourism. Zoltán Somlyai highlighted that a predictable economic environment and long-term sustainable regulation are still essential for the industry, and he is confident that the 5+1 package of measures can form the basis for further steps supporting the sector as a whole in the future.
