Soil-X-Change meeting for soil renewal innovation partnerships
On November 13, 2024, the Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI) and the Innovation and Digitalization Support Unit (ITE) of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) announced a meeting within the framework of the Soil-X-Change initiative for those interested in the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) scheme and the operational groups of the EIP for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI). The aim of the meeting was to present good practices of domestic operational groups and to facilitate the formation of soil renewal innovation partnerships.
The event, held in Túrkeve, began with a factory visit: the participants viewed elements of AgroFutura Kft.’s own humus management technology. Afterwards, Gábor Király (AKI) presented the objectives and activities of the Soil-X-Change project, followed by Lívia Kránitz (ITE) who presented the EIP operational group structure and the related calls for proposals that are about to be published within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan. Vince Láng (Discovery Research Centre) and Gábor Szőllősi (AgroFutura Kft.) presented good practices and suggestions for starting and coordinating innovation partnerships to the audience of soil scientists, researchers, consultants and farmers through their experiences. The final part of the event was a team-building workshop, in which the participants had to plan project teams around project ideas aimed at sustainable soil cultivation. During the simulation, the participants identified key people, skills, factors and relationships for the implementation of the project idea.
