Successful refund programme from Erste Bank
Erste has a digial platform called George, where one quarter of regular users have tried the Moneyback function, the bank’s refund programe. After just two months, already 20,000 customers got back HUF 54m for 40,000 purchases, by this saving sometimes as much as their monthly account fee multiplied.
László Bek-Balla, the bank’s head of digital and contact centre told: in the initial period, the offers of more than 30 partner companies were available in the system, such as Spar, Booking.com, Aliexpress, Douglas, Líra Group and Samsung. Since then several retailers and service providers have been added. It is always the partner company that decides on the size of the refund, which can be as much as 10% of the purchase made. //
