Successful municipality-owned meat plant in Gyula

After the former financial troubles the now 100-percent municipality-owned Gyulahús Kft. is stable and generates profit. In December 2012 the municipality got HUF 1.8 billion from the government to save and create jobs. They purchased the plant for HUF 860 million from the liquidator and now they employ 300 people. Last year’s sales amounted to nearly HUF 4 billion. Now the municipality intends to get EU funding for modernising production and cutting energy use.
