SIAL Innovation Award winners 2024
SIAL Innovation is the international centre for food innovation, which reviews the entries of thousands of exhibitors every two years, in collaboration with ProtéinesXTC.

This year’s SIAL Innovation competition showcased more than 2,000 new products. SIAL rewards products from around the world by category (e.g. dairy, seafood, frozen food, etc.) and with special awards, including the “Own the Change” CSR Award, the Start-up Award, the Public’s Choice Award and the Africa Award.
The top 3
France won the SIAL Innovation Gold Award this year with its Sabarot product, which is a protein-rich plant-based burger mix that can easily and quickly be used to make 4-5 tasty burgers in quinoa and bulgur, lentil trio or split pea variations.
The Silver Award went to Mauritius this year, Moringa is a refreshing herbal tea drink based on mint and apple, which has high nutritional content, including protein, calcium, iron, vitamins A and C, and is halal certified.
The Bronze Award went to Finland for KING Konjac, a carb-free konjac rice substitute for sushi, which is an ideal choice for those following a low-carb diet due to its high fibre content and being carb-free. //
Category winners
LES JARDINS DE L’ORBRIE – Cœur de Pom’ (France, Beverages): A soft drink made from candied fruits, which responds to consumer expectations with its intense flavour and sustainable approach. The drink is made without dyes and preservatives, taking into account the aspects of circular farming.
LUISSIER BORDEAU CHESNEL – Bordeau Chesnel (France, Meat category): Premium positioning rillette-type pork and chicken mince, slow-cooked for four hours, which can be eaten hot or cold.
SABAROT WASSNER – Sabarot (France, Cereals, Legumes & Fruits): Vegetable-based burger mixes with three different recipes (such as quinoa and bulgur with sun-ripened vegetables) that can be prepared quickly by adding hot water, making them easy to incorporate into home cooking.
PRIME SNACK, LLC – snEco (Ukraine, Dairy products): Crispy pieces of cheese dried at a low temperature, in three flavours (gouda, parmesan, cheddar), which don’t require refrigeration, making them ideal as snacks, without natural flavour enhancers and preservative-free.
YUMGO – Yumgo (France, Frozen products): Plant-based desserts such as cookies, brownies, brookies, which are suitable for vegan diets and can easily be used in mass catering (schools, companies, health institutions).
FUTURUM SEAFOOD AS – Vaag Seafood (Norway, Seafood): King crab meat without shell, which preserves its original texture and flavour by freezing, thus serving as a premium ingredient for sophisticated dishes.
ARBIOM – Yusto (France, Bio and wellness):”Super yeast” flakes, used as nutritional yeast flakes, with an umami flavour and in a practical resealable package.
GRAPEFUL – Grapeful (Lebanon, Grocery): Hummus bars in several flavours (e.g. pistachio-cardamom), ideal as an on-the-go snack, high in protein and has no added sugar.
ENIA FOODS – Aeons (Greece, Packaging): Olive oil bottle made of recycled cardboard, which is a fifth of the weight of traditional glass, has a lower carbon footprint, is also easy to recycle and preserves the quality of olive oil in the long term.
KING KONJAC – King Konjac (Finland, Alternative Food): Konjac-based, low-carb sushi snacks that are ideal for those following a low-calorie diet, but offer the usual taste experience.
SCELTA MUSHROOMS – Fungible (Netherlands, IFP): Mushroom-based fat replacer that enriches recipes with a 15% fat content and a natural umami taste, ideal for the production of plant-based products.
OURHOME – Ourhome (South Korea, Hospitality & Fast Food): Kimchi that uses the outer, mineral-rich leaves of the Korean napa cabbage, providing a fresh, crunchy texture even after longer storage.
ACTIVE LABEL (Italy, Tools and Technology): Smart labels that provide full tracking to maintain product quality and safety, monitoring temperature, humidity and other environmental parameters.
Special award winners
ARYZE CO. LTD – Boost IT (Mauritius, Africa special prize): Moringa-based drink with mint and apple, which stands out from the range with its vitamin-rich composition and refreshing taste.
SEAFOOD REBOOT FACTORY – OLALA! (France, Startup Special Prize): A plant-based smoked “salmon” alternative made from seaweed, which preserves the traditional taste through a smoking process.
Own the Change (CSR) Award: LUPI COFFEE – Lupi Coffee (France, CSR Award): Eco-friendly, horse bean-based “coffee” alternative with a low ecological footprint and a rich, deep flavour.
