Shanghai Fair Trade Show: record-breaking Chinese industrial exhibition coming to Budapest
One of the world’s largest industrial exhibition series, the Shanghai Fair Trade Show (CIIF), supported by the Chinese government, will be presented in Budapest this year in Pavilion D of Hungexpo. The original exhibition is one of the largest annual international military parades of Chinese industry, which will also visit the Hungarian capital this October. The event is supported by the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, among others.
The event operates in its home country on more than 280,000 m², with nine specialized, thematic pavilions, among which mechanical engineering, industrial automation, robotics, green technology, new materials, energy and industrial digital innovations are highlighted. Medical technology manufacturers and household electronics companies will also be present at the Budapest event. The event aims to showcase Chinese high-tech industry and innovations in “smart manufacturing”, industrial digitalization, artificial intelligence, and green industrial technologies on the world market, and to create new commercial partnerships – including in Hungary.
The Budapest military parade will feature around 130 high-tech enterprises from the Shanghai area from a wide variety of segments. At the event, which will take place at Hungexpo, the organizers aim to create a significant opportunity for Hungarian enterprises to gain direct access to cutting-edge industrial technologies, suppliers, and developers. The Shanghai Fair Trade Show is therefore not only an industrial exhibition, but also the primary “trendsetter” platform for industrial, digital, and green technological innovations on the world market, the Budapest round of which is a special opportunity for the local business audience.
Admission to the event is free, but registration is required. Since the focus of the exhibition is on building new relationships with Hungarian companies, the organizers offer applicants not only a business matching-meeting format, but also specialized language interpreters and meeting organization services. This opportunity can provide Hungarian participants with rare, immediate market and technological advantages – for example, more than 1,500 such personal meetings were held at the Shanghai event last year.
The Shanghai “mother exhibition” also functions as an innovation laboratory every year: in 2024, for example, several Chinese startups presented their own AI-based industrial robot solutions or new battery technologies that represent a breakthrough in green energy storage.
