Magazine: A walk in the near future
Hoventa trade fair, organised independently by Hungexpo for the first time, was a great success. Visitors were really interested in the rehearsal for the Culinary World Cup to be held in Luxembourg, the Confectioner of the Year competition and the doorman competition. At this year’s Hoventa one of the most spectacular stands was Future Gastro, organised by Trade magazin and Trade Marketing Club. More than two dozen companies presented their latest innovative products or services at the stand. Future Gastro concentrated on establishing direct business relationships, but one of its sensations was the show by two chefs from top New York restaurants: Roland Oláh and his friend Daniel Nurick. The stand was only open to registered visitors, who could listen to short presentations from the enterprises during an enjoyable one-hour tour around the stand, which was divided into the following sections: terrace, kitchen, hotel lobby, bar, restaurant and storage room. While waiting at the terrace, Mobilia Artica’s giant digital display gave an insight into the products and services presented at the stand. Visitors had time to register for the Praktiker buyers’ card – visitors showed great interest in the temporary card that gave a 10-percent extra discount at the first use. RemidaCooling presented a terrace cooling system that can decrease environmental temperature by 10-12 ºC in the summer, with the help of vaporised drops of water.
The terrace’s stylish Garvida furnishing came from Landmann and they also provided the gas and charcoal grills. The floor of the terrace was covered with ice cube imitations by MekkoraPrint. Algida Carte d’Or was present on the terrace with communication tools and an ice cream counter full of premium quality ice cream. At the entrance Szintézis placed a touchscreen multi-language menu, which presented detailed information about the dishes and lots of photos. The entrance was a modern-design automatic door, through which visitors stepped inside the stand after a presentation by the Hungarian affiliate of Swiss company Record. This special door can be opened without touching it or by using one’s fingers, elbow, palm or foot. Inside the stand we saw mobile payment systems and a water-resistant computer and printer by AltCash. Roland and Daniel were cooking in a kitchen equipped by InBistro Kft., where Bizerba was also present with its special scales and a multifunctional automatic slicer.
The two chefs cooked a different main course every day and there were small-portion food miracles available for tasting – base materials were provided by Lekkerland and Wiesbauer. La Fiesta’s staff guaranteed the high quality background kitchen and stand service. Besides the fine dining wonders, Ardo’s finger food and vegetable burgers also brought culinary joy. MekkoraPrint bought a huge sofa that showed how the company can print any logo or picture on a special material, which can be used to cover furniture or cushions. Vörös Oroszlán tea house presented their beast teas and a device called oxygen bar. SGS Hungaria Kft. showed how at critical points hygiene systems can be checked by using their accredited laboratory. Megaholz Kft. installed Swanstone anti-bacterial wash basins and work surfaces. We saw that Dyson Airblade hand dryers are cost-effective and environmentally friendly. Diversey showed visitors their wide range of cleaning products and devices. On the other side of the storage room Bunge presented the whole spectrum of its Venus coking oil family. Pap Légtechnika offered solutions for cleaning dirty kitchen air pipes.
Terbe Design Kft. surprised visitors with unique, handcrafted furniture: massive chairs, bar stools, armchairs, sofas and tables were made from carton. They furnished a restaurant and a hotel lobby at the stand, but carton furniture is perfect for event organisers too. Progast brought an Asian-influenced dinner service range. Odin’s RFID identification system for restaurant and hotel textiles marvelled visitors. In the hotel section Szintézis presented its latest hotel and restaurant systems, which perfectly matched the spirit of the Future Gastro stand. Joya exhibited shoes that are really comfortable for those who have to stand or walk all day. Fixpont Trade came with two novelties, one of which was a smoking cabin that filters out 95 percent of cigarette smoke and blows clean air back to the room. The tour around the stand ended at the bar, where visitors could have a Bacardi-Martini, a Red Bull or a Heineken and take a look at the companies’ special refrigerators.
