Tesco is opening a salad creation department
Tesco’s latest initiative allows customers to find all the ingredients to make a personalized salad in one place. Based on the news of the British Tesco, the supermarket chain is opening a new salad creation department, which was created directly under the influence of social media.
According to Tesco’s official statement, the new department is divided into three different sections: for the selection of ingredients, toppings and dressings. Emily Hampson, Tesco’s product procurement manager, highlighted:
“Our salads are not just side dishes, they can also be tasty, complete meals. We want customers to get creative with cooking at home.”
The Hungarian Tesco was asked by Pénzcentrum whether a similar department is expected in Hungary. In Hungary, there are no plans to introduce the new specific range yet, as consumer habits at home are different from the British market. At the same time, salad consumption is increasing, and the company is open to introducing this system in the future if it sees positive results abroad.
