Cheese up!
For the 39th time, World Milk Day took place on 2 June with many programmes and professional forums in Kaposvár. Recently per capita milk consumption dropped 2-3 percent in Hungary, last year it was 155-160kg/person. The Dairy Product Board’s goal is to make annual consumption go above 200kg/person. A new18-month programme called ‘Cheese Up’ popularises cheese eating and it builds on a European Union programme. Cheese Up starts this summer and tries to educate Hungarians about cheese, it also organises school events and promotes cheese and curd consumption in general – we were told by Éva Tábori, managing director of implementing advertising agency Clair and Curtis.
