The ifo German business sentiment index deteriorated in July
The index fell 100.8 points in July from 101.7 points in June, a two-and-a-half-year high. The market expected growth of 102.1 points in July.
The development of both components of the mood index fell short of expectations in July. Although the indicator quantifying the current situation has risen, it has been lower than expected, and the value of the indicator quantifying expectations for the six months has deteriorated much more than expected.
