Consumer sentiment in the United States deteriorated in May
According to unconfirmed data released on Friday by the University of Michigan’s standard monthly survey, the consumer sentiment index fell to 59.1 points in May, the lowest level since August 2011, from 65.2 points in April. Analyst expectations averaged a less deteriorating 64-point figure for May. A year ago, the index stood at 82.9 points. (MTI)
