Consumer sentiment in the United States deteriorated in May
In the United States, consumer sentiment deteriorated more significantly in May than previously reported.
According to the final data from the University of Michigan’s monthly survey released on Friday, the consumer sentiment index fell 58.4 points from 65.2 points in April. The preliminary May figure reported nearly two weeks ago was about 59.1 points. A year ago, the index was much higher at 82.9 points. (MTI)
