The consumer sentiment in the European Union has deteriorated
Consumer sentiment in both the euro area and the EU as a whole worsened in June – according to the preliminary data released by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG EcFin) published on Thursday.
In the euro area, the indicator dropped by 0.7 points to minus 7.2 points. In the EU-28, the index also dropped by 0.7 points and stood at minus 6.9 points.
In the euro area, the average consumer confidence index was minus 10.04 points between 1985 and 2019. It reached its highest value in May 2000 with minus 1.40 points, and the record low was minus 23.90 points in March 2009. (MTI)
