Carrefour is expanding in Romania
Carrefour announced that the company took over 86 Billa supermarkets in Romania, acquiring the chain from its competitor Rewe group.
The supermarkets have a total sales area of 83,000 square meters and according to a statement from the group, will become “the leading supermarket operator in Romania”.
The French retailer opened its first hypermarket in Romania in 2001 and now operates 29 hypermarkets and 104 supermarkets there. It employs over 9,00 people in the country. (tozsdeforum.hu, MTI)
