Rapidly expanding German market
According to forecasts, by 2021 the German food market will be worth EUR 259 billion as the sector is expanding by 10.5 percent a year. IGD’s analysis has revealed that the biggest driver of this trend is population growth. Online retail is expected to develop the most dynamically: 244.4 percent more consumers will be buying groceries online in four years’ time.
