The growing area of the red pepper is decreasing rapidly
Despite the more and more support, the pepper market is in crisis. The ministry that is keen to support Hungaricums seems to be helplessly watching as fewer and fewer ground pepper is made in the country – Népszabadság Online wrote.
The Hungarian spice paprika production is drifting towards a crisis according to Németh József President and Chief Executive of the Kalocsai Fűszerpaprika Zrt. and board member of the National Red Pepper Marketing Board. He told that Hirado.hu that the arable land decreased tenfold, compared to 25 years before and only about 200 enterprises and 800 small farmers are producing paprika in Hungary. (Népszabadság Online)
