Desiccation of sunflowers can also be done from an airplane or a helicopter
Taking into account the indications of the professional and producer chambers, Nébih issued an emergency license for three diquat-based plant protection agents in order to ensure safe harvesting with as little crop loss as possible.

The preparations can be used for desiccation of sunflowers, they can be applied by aerial spraying, only from fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters. The emergency permit applies to the following herbicides: Reglone Air (producer: Syngenta), Solaris (producer: Globachem NV, Belgium) and Desicash 20 SL (manufactured by Sharda Cropchem Ltd., India). Nébih allows the marketing and use of the above preparations from August 9 to September 23, 2024, exclusively in sunflower culture, for stock drying. The agent can be applied by aerial spraying, from a fixed-wing aircraft or a helicopter. The size of the manageable area is a maximum of 47,190 hectares.
It is extremely important that, during aerial application by fixed-wing aircraft or helicopter, the provisions of Decree No. 44/2005 on aerial work in agriculture and forestry must be observed. (V. 6.) FVM-GKM-KvVM joint decree. In the case of the application plan, the prior approval of the territorially competent county government office is required.
Aerial spraying can only be carried out using an anti-drift nozzle, with a setting that ensures that the diameter of the spray juice droplets falling on the culture to be treated is at least 200 µm by 50% volume. The simultaneous use of drift-reducing additives is also necessary. During aerial application, in order to protect non-target plants and aquatic organisms, it is necessary to observe the safety zones, which are 50 m from surface water, 50 m from non-agricultural land, and 100 m from other agricultural crops.
