Flying giants from Macy's
Spider-Man, SpongeBob SquarePants and Snoopy have been given the go ahead to fly today, as Macy's announced the annual Thanksgiving Parade would go ahead. There had been fears the 16 giant balloons that fly between Manhattan skyscrapers during the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade today would be grounded by windy conditions, but The store tweeted this morning that the parade was given a green light.
The parade is due to begin at 9am at 77th street and will wind its way along 2.5miles of street watched by millions of people. It will travel along Central Park West, 6th Avenue and finishing at Macy's Herald Square. The event will be watched by 3.5 million people at the site, and a further 50 million people will watch it on TV in the U.S. (Pogár Demeter, MTI)
