Unusual Mother’s Day: when moms didn’t go shopping to Tesco
A total of nearly 2,800 parents, of whom around 2,200 are mothers, work at Tesco with children under the age of 18. Primarily, the company helps them and those planning a family with numerous measures throughout the year so that they can spend as much time as possible with their children in addition to work.
In addition, on the occasion of Mother’s Day, Tesco welcomed the mothers of colleagues with store and office visits so that they could get to know their children’s working conditions better, and in addition to all this, it supports the presentation of community-strengthening stories of women working in retail in this year’s Terézanyu competition by launching a special category. 2,800 of Tesco’s employees are raising more than 4,500 children under the age of 18, 2,200 of whom are mothers. Among the total of nearly 5,800 Tesco female colleagues, however, there are quite a few who have grown-up children and grandparents. The greatest gift a parent can give to their child is their attention and time, as thanks for which mothers were celebrated nationwide on May 5 this year. With a number of different family-friendly measures, the company ensures that those who have children get as many days off as possible and thereby achieve a work-life balance.
