Courier services are preparing for a record season before Christmas
As the holiday season approaches, more and more people are browsing the offerings of online stores. Based on the experience of previous years, the volume of orders increases several times before Christmas, especially after Black Friday. Courier services are also preparing for the busiest period of the year.
The logistics manager of Sameday courier service said that the company has secured the season. “We have an adequate courier fleet, a fleet of vehicles, and our parcel machines and Pick Pack Points are now available nationwide.”
Árpád Bokodi highlighted customer awareness, accurate data, and quick receipt of packages from the machines in order to successfully deliver packages to their destination:
It is important that customers always order from a reliable site and pay due attention to the seller’s identity in online marketplaces. There are also more and more foreign sellers in Hungary, in whose case the delivery time is much longer, regardless of the accuracy of domestic delivery service providers. It often takes up to 10-12 days for the package to arrive in Hungary. If you order from a Hungarian webshop, this can greatly speed up the process, but even in this case it is advisable to place the order on time.
The data provided when ordering, such as address, postal code and phone number, should be accurate, because these fundamentally affect the success of the delivery!
One of Sameday’s strengths is its nationwide network of parcel machines, currently 1,100 machines are available. It is important that customers collect their orders from the machines as soon as possible, thus helping to deliver as many packages as possible.
Sameday’s logistics manager also reported that the merger with Sprinter Courier Service, which posed serious challenges for the organization, has been completed, but it has managed to stabilize again by the start of the season.
“We have completed an extremely complex project, we are already in the final phase, there are still minor refinements to be made, primarily in the IT and service areas. There were many elements to be combined within the acquisition project, which is a time-consuming process, many things could not be modeled in advance.”
– emphasized Árpád Bokodi. “The goal is to be able to provide a service that is appropriate in all aspects for our customers and contracted partners by the season.”
