Metro Cash & Carry achieved record sales and profit within the Metro Group last year.
Sales grew by 6,5 per cent to EUR 29,9 billion, while EBIT rose by 9,7 per cent to EUR 1,1 billion. Metro Cash & Carry opened 24 new stores in eastern Europe in 2006.
