Record performance from SPAR in 2017
2017 was a record year for SPAR Hungary in terms of both sales and development projects. Our magazine interviewed managing director Gabriella Heiszler.
– What was the most important event for SPAR Hungary in 2017?
SPAR Hungary is built on three pillars: quality, hard work and respect. I think these values led to the record-level 8.9-percent sales growth at HUF 562.5 billion last year.
– What kinds of changes were characteristic of last year?
In 2017 we invested HUF 23 billion in store modernisation. Our franchise programme has remained an important element of our business strategy. By the end of 2017 the number of our private label products increased to 2,700. The Regnum meat processing plant and the SPAR enjoy. production plant where salads and sandwiches are made provide shoppers with top-quality products.
– What do you focus on in 2018 and what are your expectations?
We continue with our development projects. We also plan to add new private label, special and convenience products to our assortment, plus we wish to launch new services. Another goal is to make shopping in SPAR stores a real experience. //
