Inflation in the euro area was at a record high in January
Euro area inflation accelerated to a record high in January, while core inflation was the lowest in three months.
The European Union’s statistical office, Eurostat, announced on Wednesday that consumer prices rose 5.1 percent year-on-year in the eurozone after 5.1 percent in December. In the European Union, an increase of 5.6 percent was measured after 5.3 percent in December. (MTI)
