A record amount of 2857 tonnes of illegally dumped garbage was collected by the participants of the sixth TeSzedd! – Voluntary movement to clean Hungary – the National Environment and Nature Protection Inspectorate told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the information, this amount is more than the population of Budapest produces in 1.5 days and corresponds to the weight of 41 Combino trams.
The TeSzedd! action is Hungary's largest voluntary action for garbage collection movement. Between April 1 and May 28, the national initiative broke records in all aspects: the number of participants and the cleaned areas, as well as the amount of collected garbage. (MTI)
