Treasures of Regions – domestic delicacies on the shelves of SPAR
SPAR Hungary helps domestic small producers to enter the market with the Treasures of the Regions program, within the framework of which more than 500 products produced by domestic companies are already on offer in the stores, in a wide variety of product categories.
In 2021, SPAR Hungary launched its Treasures of Regions program in order to bring high-quality, handcrafted products from local small producers to the market. The company has set up centers in six cities with county status – Székesfehérvár, Zalaegerszeg, Hódmezővásárhely, Nyíregyháza, Pécs and Győr – as well as in Budapest, where micro and small businesses, producers, craft companies, small wineries and breweries can sell their products for the given region. . SPAR only selects products manufactured in Hungary, preferably made from domestic raw materials, into the program, for which it is important that they are linked to the given region and that the manufacturer creates value with it. This gave the local partners the opportunity to continuously deliver their high-quality products from within a few tens of kilometers of the regional center, shortening the transport chains and causing as little environmental impact as possible.
According to experience, customers liked the unique, typically small-batch food products, and SPAR created an opportunity for businesses to present their products to a wider audience, not only at small farmers’ markets, but also as a partner of one of Hungary’s largest domestic retail chains.
