The German economy may be in recession because of the epidemic
The German economy could be in recession as a result of the coronavirus epidemic – analysts warned the German press on Tuesday.
While a collapse like the financial crisis of 2008-2009 is not expected as the banking system is much healthier and better prepared for shocks, a “slight recession” in the first half of the year does not seem inevitable even if production in China recovers again – Carsten Brzeski, chief economist at ING Bank told Deutschlandfunk national public service radio.
