Baker McKenzie’s talent program for law students has won a prestigious award
The law firm’s New Lawyer Challenge competition for law students won the Best Talent Program award of the Joint Venture Association.
The New Lawyer Challenge competition was created by Baker McKenzie in 2018 with the aim of providing participants with an insight into the diversity of legal work and the current or future legal issues that arise on a daily basis. The organizers place particular emphasis on the fact that the questions included in the competition and the legal case to be solved in the final should be innovative, requiring complex thinking and nuanced solutions.
In the three-round competition, 8-10 people make it to the finals, the first three of them receive a cash prize. The Wolters Kluwer special prize is awarded to the contestant presenting the most outstanding presentation, and in addition, each finalist receives a one-year subscription to the legal library. In addition to monetary and book prizes, the first three students have the opportunity to join the law firm as an intern, where they can gain significant experience in addition to mentoring.
