Tesco sold carcinogen baby food
The Plant and Soil Conservation Directorate of the Budapest and Pest County Agricultural Office forbidden the marketing of carcinogenic baby foods in the stores of Tesco Global Co.
Slovak origin, OVKO branded Novofruct produced baby desserts 0.027 mg / kg captan pesticide active ingredient were measured. According to the existing legislation baby foods cannot contain, contain pesticide residue – says the statement of the Budapest and Pest County Agricultural Office (MgSzH) – reports fn. hu, after MTI.
Tesco’s Position:
After receiving the official decision of the MgSZH, Tesco immediately took off the products that are in question off the shelves and even all the products of the manufacturer have been withdrawn, which possibly contain apples.
The baby foods may be returned to the shelves depending on the results of the ongoing official investigation and if it will be proved that these products do not contain any pollution.
Tesco also alerted the official supplier over the decision.
