The packaging industry could change radically
Recently, the packaging industry is experiencing very strong impulses, which are expected to significantly transform the industry and accelerate its earlier processes. The EU ban on single use plastics from 2021 and increasing public pressure are forcing the segment to use environmentally friendly raw materials. At the same time, the current epidemic situation may bring about the replacement of global supply chains, which are also environmentally beneficial.
Of these, replacing disposable plastics may be more urgent, as there are only months left until January 2021, when the legislation enters into force, and there is no sign of delaying or easing yet, Markos András, managing director of the Hesse Trade Kft. said.
