PwC: carbon intensity reduced by less than half of the target
The pace of global decarbonisation seems to have come to a halt, after moderate progress over the previous four years.
If this trend continues, countries will not be able to reach the global target set in Paris of keeping warming well below 2 °C. In 2018, Germany performed the best – leading the low-carbon economy index with a decarbonisation rate of 6.5 percent. While the United Kingdom’s progress has slowed down, but remains the number one among the G20 countries.
