Turkey Association: stable situation in the sector, reduced buying price
The position of the turkey sector is stable, sudden price movements are unlikely. The price of live turkey was lowered by 8-10 forints per tonne, compared to last year to 370 forints, because of the increased livestock supply- the Hungarian Turkey Association told MTI.
According to the federation, the stability of the sector is due to the fact that buying prices are aligned with market trends and feed prices that make up a significant part of the costs.
Erdélyi István, president of the alliance, believes that this year’s turkey production will be around 94-95 thousand tonnes, which is below last year’s 101,000 tonnes. (MTI)
