Bocuse d’Or Hungarian final
The international chef competition’s Hungarian final will take place on 8 February. In the prestigious competition the following chefs will compete to decide who will represent Hungary in the European final, which will be held in Torino: Péter Dualszky-Kovács, Richárd Elek, Ádám Garai, Zsolt Haraszti, Krisztián Kiss, Ádám Pohner, Pál Tóth, Péter Várnai, István Veres, István Volenter. //
Sirha Budapest Dessert Competition
The dessert competition will be organised for the third time in 2018, on the first day of Sirha Budapest. One of Hungary’s best pastry chefs Zoltán Kolonics decided to launch the competition to give young talents a chance to show their knowledge and skills. Participants will have to work in three categories: fruit dessert, plate dessert and artistic confectionery. //
Innovation competition
Hungexpo Zrt. and Trade magazin will organise their innovation competition at Sirha Budapest for the third time in 2018. The trade fair’s exhibitors can enter the international competition with products and services launched between two Sirha Budapest trade shows. Categories: food and beverage, bakery and confectionery products, technologies, hotel industry products, packaging and logistics. //
Conferences and other programmes
There will be many conferences at Sirha Budapest. Several trade associations will be there to discuss the most important topics, such as the Pannon Gastronomy Academy, the Agricultural Marketing Centre, the Hungarian Tourism Agency, the National Food Chain Safety Office, the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade, the Hungarian Baker Association and the Guild of Hungarian Confectioners. Enterprise Europe Network, the PRIMOM foundation’s B2B meeting will also be organised. //
Future Store
Trade magazin is going to build a store at the trade fair, where they will present the latest innovative solutions to grocery store operators. Future Store visitors will learn about the hottest trends, which they can utilise in their own stores. //
Catering Cup Hungary Selection
This is the first time that event gastronomy companies will be competing in Hungary. The Catering Cup will be held on 6-7 February 2018. List of competitors: Albatros-Expo Catering Kft., Budapest Party Service Kft., Fody Event and Party Service Kft., Gundel Kft., La Fiesta Party Service Kft. The winner will represent Hungary in the world final at Sirha Lyon. //
Omnivore Budapest
Another debut at Sirha Budapest: on 9 February 2018 Omnivore Budapest will take place in pavilion ‘A’ of HUNGEXPO Budapest Fair Centre. Omnivore started out in France and its goal is to create a forum for the so-called ‘Young Cuisine’: 10 innovative chefs will host 45-minute master courses at Sirha Budapest. //
National Mass Catering Chef Competition
Chefs who work in public sector catering are competing for the sixth time and the contest’s final will be at Sirha Budapest, on 9 February 2018. Finalists will have to cook using the goods they find in a food basket that only contains Hungarian ingredients. //
