87 percent of the respondents indicated the retention of employees as the goal of wage improvement, and 51 percent also mentioned the acquisition of new employees. They recalled that while in 2019, the salary improvements planned at the beginning of the year were aimed at those performing physical jobs in the majority of companies, and then two years later also at middle managers, by 2022 they were counting on salary increases for the entire company in general. This can be seen even now, for 80 percent of the respondents, the change will affect the entire company – they pointed out in the announcement.
According to the survey, seven out of ten companies do not expect any change in the amount of fringe benefits this year
29 percent of the companies plan to increase their wages by an average of 16 percent, while 4 percent predict an average decrease of 12 percent. Imre Tüzes, Business Development Director of Profession.hu, drew attention to the fact that in the current economic situation, acquiring and retaining good employees has become even more challenging than before.
The data collection took place on January 19-24, 2023. was carried out by completing an online questionnaire.
