Premium cheese wins a gold medal at the “Bocuse D’Or of cheeses”.
Vászolyi Sajtmanufaktúra won a gold medal at the prestigious Mondial du Fromage competition, which was judged by French and international experts.
This is the second time that the cheese workshop in Vászóly has won the main prize. The winning Balaton cheese is a semi-hard cheese made from cow’s milk, which is carefully matured and regularly cared for during maturation. It was a real challenge at the competition, as they started in a category that is also referred to as the “cheese Bocuse D’Or”.
Balaton cheese has already received many awards, for example, it won a gold medal in 2021, and since 2015 it has won a gold medal four times at the Hungarian Cheese Show. He also participated in the Frankfurt cheese competition. Hungarian cheeses also successfully participated in the World Cheese Awards 2022 competition last year, where several Hungarian cheeses won the recognition of the jury.
The results show that outstanding quality products are produced in the field of Hungarian cheese making, which are also competitive on the international market. Successful Hungarian cheese workshops emphasize innovation and quality, and these efforts are recognized by international juries.
