Kofola Buys Slovak Non-Alcoholic Wine Brand
The Czech company becomes Coke Zero competitor with bez soda launch.
Czech beverage firm Kofola has acquired the “Vinea” brand, also
known as the “non-alcoholic wine” from Slovak wine producer Vitis
Pezinok, reports the local press. Kofola said it sees a huge
potential in the brand and will attempt to grow sales of the product
thanks to its knowledge of the non-alcoholic beverage market. Vinea
production will be gradually moved to Kofola’s plant in Rajecka
Lesna.
Kofola produces and supplies soft
drinks in central Europe. Besides the Czech Republic, the company
also operates in Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary. Company's sales in
2007 amounted to CZK 4.5 billion (about 180 million euro) up 15.3%
compared to 2006.
