More and more retailers roll out sustainable private label product ranges. Waitrose halved the plastic packaging of private label Easter chocolate eggs. This year Lidl Belgium unveils 11 meat alternatives in its Veggie and Vegan product lines. Lidl France debuted with the first milk carton made of plant-based plastic. Sales by Ahold Delhaize surpassed expectations in all of the 11 countries where the chain is present, reaching EUR 74.7 billion – a 14.2-percent growth in comparison with the previous year. Carrefour’s performance is the best of the last 20 years, as sales have grown by 7.8 percent to EUR 70.7 billion. //
