Carrefour Polska Expands Pistachio Product Range
Carrefour Polska is expanding its pistachio-flavoured product offering to more than 100 SKUs, to meet the growing demand for this increasingly popular ingredient.
Pistachios are currently one of the most fashionable additives, not only in the FMCG and catering industries, but also in Polish households, according to the retailer.
Carrefour Polska’s new product range features chocolates, creams, cookies, halva, baklava, bars and wafers, as well as new products, including ice creams, yoghurts, liqueurs, baked goods, and sliced meats.
The products will be available in all Carrefour stores, including franchised outlets, as well as the soft-discount chain Supeco.
Piotr Lubiewa-Wieleżyński, sales development director at Carrefour Polska, stated, “Pistachios are one of those ingredients that have gained huge recognition among Polish consumers. Their popularity is constantly growing, and the trend clearly shows a change in shopping behaviour: customers are increasingly reaching for products that are not only tasty, but also healthy.”
Pistachios Gain Popularity
Buoyed by the popularity of Dubai chocolate, pistachios have gained the status of one of the most desirable ingredients in cooking and confectionery.
Their unique taste, intense green colour, and versatility of use make them suitable for a wide range of products, ranging from desserts to savoury dishes.
Pistachios were named the most fashionable nuts of 2023, the retailer stated, citing the Horecaline portal.
For Carrefour Polska, pistachios are at the forefront of the most sought-after products, with sales of Deseo pistachio creams exceeding those of the most popular chocolate creams, and Dubai chocolate outshining everyday products, such as sugar.
Carrefour Polska is offering selected products with discounts of up to 50%, as part of its ‘Pistacjowe Love’ campaign.
Lubiewa-Wieleżyński added, “Carrefour was the first retail chain in Poland to initiate the ‘Pistacjowe Love’ campaign – a comprehensive campaign promoting a wide selection of pistachio products. Our offer is not a temporary promotion, but a well-thought-out year-round strategy for the presence of pistachios in the assortment, which is crucial for building customer trust.
“It is also an important element of our broader strategy to develop the segment of premium products and healthy snacks, which are becoming increasingly popular among Poles.”
According to Kerry Group’s latest annual Taste Charts trend predictions, pistachios are experiencing a revival and appearing as creams, butter and sauces in desserts, confections and beverages.
