According to András Csomay, marketing manager of Törley Sparkling Wine Cellars, in recent years the company’s sales have shifted towards higher-value products. For instance non-alcoholic products, bottle-fermented and aged sparkling wines, and the Prosecco category are more and more popular.

After the success of the Törley ICE product range in recent years, at the end of 2025 they will come out with the Törley Selection sparkling wine line. A growing number of consumers are looking for drier flavours in the sparkling wine category, but sweet and tank-fermented sparkling wines still dominate during peak periods. Small and medium-sized wineries are strengthening their positions on the domestic sparkling wine market.

Reducing seasonality

Kovács György
vezérigazgató
Royalsekt

György Kovács, the CEO of Royalsekt Zrt. told our magazine that before the last two months of the year they are optimistic about the challenges of the season in all three of their main categories: sparkling wine, children’s sparkling wine and Hugo.

Reducing the seasonal nature of the product has been successful – they have managed to create a second season in the summer with sparkling wine-based cocktails, which have realised very good volume growth over the past two years.

Wine-based cocktail sales have grown once again this year and are slowly reaching their peak. The CEO believes that the marketing budgets invested in “deseasonalisation” will pay off, but making a return on this investment is a very long process.
