The world without PET bottles
The climate change is one of the most pressing issue on Earth. Thousands of activists are campaigning worldwide to draw attention for the responsibility of humans. Many people think that the main problem is caused by the exhaust of factories and cars, but waste generation has also reached staggering proportions. If these two factors are connected, and we consider that how the products end in the trash polluted the environment even when they were produced we will face disappointing data.
Approximately 100 million barrels of oil is needed for the production of 460 billion soft drink bottles and cans every year. The pollution created during transport contributes to the pollution as well. Then, after the bottle was thrown out it breaks down for almost 450 years. About 340 million bottles are not recycled annually worldwide,, of which nearly 141 billion ends in US landfills – Rutai Gergely, specialist of SodaStream draws attention.
SodaStream’s priority aim is to reduce the production of PET bottles worldwide. The users of the SodaStream machines reduce the world’s waste production with approximately 500 million PET bottles, thus protecting the environment from effects associated with the production and transportation.
