According to László Göndör, consulting director of Hostlogic Kft, we not only see financial systems, but also ERP systems in use today. These systems allow FMCG companies to process information comprehensively, consistently, on a daily basis. This means that logistic, manufacturing, financial and controlling processes can be optimised. Only a very small minority of companies – probably the smallest enterprises – continue to use separate financial systems. Integration is the essence of management and more precisely SAP systems. SAP based Smart Enterprise solutions developed by Hostlogic for the requirements of the FMCG sector provide natural support for all basic sales processes. The sophisticated pricing technology of SAP and the solution based on the experience of HostLogic allow even the most complicated pricing algorithms to be modelled. SAP is the most robust solution available today. Data bases can be of practically unlimited size. One of the most important feature of ERP systems is that hardly any programming is required when changes in legislation occur. There is no notable development taking place in the financial services offered by ERP systems, as these already perform all conceivable functions. However, technology is changing in the ERP world. This change is being brought about by the arrival of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), which will allow functions to be linked freely in order to support business processes. Different services will not necessarily come from the same software provider. CSB offers integrated solutions primarily for the food business, as János Ádám, financial consultant of CBS explains. The advantage of such integrated systems is that data is kept in a closed system and is never lost. Data can also be tracked an retrieved very easily. All changes and mistakes can also be identified easily. CSB is intended for medium and large enterprises which have experienced rapid growth and now require software solutions in their daily operations. Typically, these companies already use software solutions, but these are not integrated into a single systems. Integrated systems prevent any deformation of data. Regarding the future of these applications, János Áder believes that these will become accessible from anywhere, from a wide range of devices and will continue to improve in terms of accuracy and speed of updates. According to Tamás Pásztor Tamás, an expert from ProgAdat Kft, good financial systems do not force users to change their practices radically but allow them to review these. ProgAdat has been active in the development and introduction of IT systems in the FMCG sector for twenty years. In his opinion, Hungarian users follow Western trends with a delay of a few years. This means that banks will reduce the costs of transactions in the future, which will lead to an increase in the use of cards. IT systems will need to adapt to this change. As concentration is expected to continue in the FMCG sector, the importance of integration will also increase.
