Croissants and French rolls still most popular bakery products
Nine out of ten people like croissants and French rolls and eight out of ten also like white bread, according to a survey of eating habits conducted by GfK Hungária in 2007. Croissants and French rolls are the most popular bakery products while white bread is also very popular. Brown bread is popular among 50 percent of consumers, with a higher proportion of women than men in this group. Brown bread is most popular among people with a college or university degree, with white bread enjoying higher popularity among less well educated people. Health conscious consumers are over represented among the consumers of brown bread. White bread is consumed on five occasions per week on average, while brown bread is consumed on two occasions. Croissants and French rolls are consumed on four occasions per week. 16 percent of consumers eat brown bread every day.
