Sainsbury’s to wrap avocados in paper
In a trial that started in 77 stores in January, Sainsbury’s private label twin pack Ripe & Ready avocados are sold in fully recyclable packaging, made from paper and bamboo mesh.

By replacing the plastic packaging, the retailer can save up to 20.2 million pieces of plastic each year. Sainsbury’s has already switched to paper packaging with a number of products.
