The future of the cosmetics industry in paper-based packaging
The development of L’Oréal and Albéa can bring groundbreaking innovation to the cosmetics industry.
The two companies have created the first paper-based cosmetic tube, using almost entirely bio-based and certified paper-like material instead of plastic. Renewal of cosmetic packaging is part of L’Oréal’s sustainability endeavor, which is also part of the Sharing Beauty With All sustainability program.
The joint development of L’Oréal and Albéa is an alternative for certain types of cosmetic packaging. Environmental benefits are assessed by a multi-criteria Life Cycle Analysis, which shows the environmental impact of a product throughout its life cycle.
