Paper replaces plastic at McDonald’s
The company is replacing plastic straws with paper ones in all of its restaurants in the United Kingdom and Ireland after a successful trial – Index wrote after MTI.
The move comes as pressure grows on companies to reduce plastic products and packaging, amid concerns over plastic pollution in the seas where items such as straws end up harming wildlife like turtles and fish. (index, MTI)
