McDonald’s is making a Community Film with György Pálfi and Margaret Island
Thousands of personal and shared experiences surround us wherever we go, someone is connected to each place and location in some way. Most of us have many first experiences and special memories of McDonald’s restaurants. This is precisely why the Hungarian fast food chain decided to launch a community project on the occasion of its 35th anniversary and make a community film from personal stories related to Meki. The content for the commemorative montage will be provided by the guests and employees of the past decades, the music by Margaret Island, and the final visual world by György Pálfi, one of the most successful Hungarian directors of our time.
In the past 35 years, Hungarian McDonald’s restaurants have hosted many special events and experiences. For many, a memorable birthday party, a stopover between two party venues, or an unusual date or even engagement location; For thousands, Meki means the first day of work, the first salary, the first promotion, or even a support team and the memory of togetherness. On the dedicated website, McDonald’s is now asking its guests, as well as current and former employees, to become part of its Community Film with their videos and pictures of their experiences.
In addition to VHS tapes, developed analog photos and new mobile content, the Margaret Island songwriters will be responsible for the atmosphere, who will write their new songs especially for this project.
