The Food Avalanche Programme helped to five thousand families
The Food Avalanche Programme of the Hungarian Food Bank Association and Syngenta took place in fifty-three settlements this year. The local authorities and civil societies that took part in the programme grew a total of 150 tons of food crops in their own fields and gave them to the needy families.
In this year’s Food Avalanche Programme, the seeds offered by Syngenta were sown on a total of 110 hectares in 53 settlements. With the guidance of agricultural professionals, the work was carried out by disadvantaged people who then were also allowed to take the food crops home, among other things, potatoes, tomatoes, sweet corn, green peas, cauliflower and onions.
