Five percent less food waste at Tesco
We have no time to waste! Tesco in its stores and warehouses makes serious efforts to reduce food waste, but in order to take further effective steps, it is necessary to measure the amount of excess and waste generated during its operation.
Thus, as the first among the Central European retailers, the company published last year its report on the amount of food waste. This year’s report – published for the second time – reports serious results: Tesco in Hungary reduced food waste by 35 percent in one year and delivered more than 7,000 tons of food donations to the needy.
