An autumn action plan is being prepared to support SMEs: automation and technological developments are the focus
Richárd Szabados, the newly appointed State Secretary of the Ministry of National Economy, announced that the programs of the autumn action plan aimed at the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be launched within two months. According to the state secretary, the goal is to create a state secretariat that is open and close to the market, which can provide immediate answers to the challenges of the entrepreneurial sphere – we learn from a recent article in Világgazdaság.
The State Secretariat focuses on the development of SMEs
Already in September, Szabados will meet with the largest entrepreneurial interest groups, such as the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, KAVOSZ and the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ). The planned programs can be implemented from three sources: EU tenders, domestic budget sources, and through international consortium collaborations.
The state secretary emphasized that “we don’t have much time”, referring to the economic situation. The November date is crucial, as from then on all program elements will be charged to next year’s budget. Szabados highlighted that data-driven programs are being developed and the performance of SMEs, including access to credit, the number of employees and investment ratios, is monitored based on annual evaluations.
Ambitious goals for 2030
The government has set ambitious goals for 2030: they want to increase the investment ratio of SMEs from 25-30 percent to 40 percent, while the export capacity would be increased from 5 percent to 7 percent. The third pillar is the preference of Hungarian-owned enterprises in the programs and the support of the role of technological developments, especially AI and artificial intelligence.
