Foreign tourists spent more in Romania last year
Foreign tourists spent five percent more in Romania in 2016, but spent 5 percent less per person, compared to the previous year – the Romanian national statistical institute announced on Friday.
Last year, the Romanian commercial accommodations were visited by 2.469 million foreign tourists who spent a total of 5.922 billion lei (402.6 billion HUF).
The number of foreign tourists increased by 10.6 percent last year. Overall spendings rose by 5 percent, but on average five per cent less was spent per capita, 2398 lei (163 thousand HUF). In the previous year they spent an average of 2525 lei per person and 2663 lei in 2014. (MTI)
